In collaboration with Madison County Hospital, Madison County Emergency Medical District offers interfacility transports from the Emergency Room to hospitals in other areas. These transports range from patients with active heart attacks that require immediate cardiac catheterization, a stroke that requires rapid intervention, or a trauma that requires transport to a trauma center capable of emergency surgery.
This service is provided for patients that have time sensitive emergencies that require immediate transport for lifesaving procedures. The time saved by MCEMD transporting these patients, instead of waiting for a transport company out of another area, could make the difference in life or death, or long term disability.
